Supporting Us ImageHome-Start-Sheffield SloganHome Start Logo
There is a huge need for Home-Start Sheffield’s pioneering service in Sheffield. Of the
113,000 children and young people who live in Sheffield, 41,000 are considered to be vulnerable and 4,000 to be in need.
In spite of the 120 volunteers working for Home-Start in Sheffield the demand is greater than ever for Home-Start’s services. Home-Start needs to expand and increase its strategy for early intervention into areas of the city that currently have no access to our service. Last year, Home-Start Sheffield supported 243 vulnerable families and a total of 527 children, but we want and have to do more!

The Development Panel is a group of people, made up of staff, trustees and other volunteers who meet together to discuss fundraising ideas and ways in which we can raise the profile of Home-Start in the city.

How organisation can help?
Home-Start Sheffield is keen to develop good relationships with a wide range of industries to
ensure a better future for Sheffield's Children.

Become a Corporate Partner

Join those companies who are already working alongside Home-Start to raise funds to expand our service. Companies and Home-Start Sheffield - we can be a Win Win Partnership!

Win - Families get the help they need when they need it in a friendly, non-threatening way and we reach out to more children and parents who are struggling to cope.

Win - Companies become associated with the largest home-visiting family support charity in the UK and could be touching the lives of their employees.

Organise a fundraising event

Whether you fundraise on your own or with your workmates and employer, there are lots of ways you can help. A sponsored walk helped Home-Start Sheffield to raise £2,000. The Home-Start Staff are always willing to help and support any fundraising efforts.

Giving through payroll

A simple and tax effective way to support our families. Setting up the scheme is easy and cost effective. Once up and running, employees ask their payroll department to deduct a donation from their pay before tax, which means that a £10 donation costs you just £7.80. Many more companies now recognise that supporting vital work in local communities is good for families and is good for business.

Releasing employees to volunteer

All Home-Start volunteers complete a 10 week, one day a week, training course, that allows them not only to explore what is involved in supporting families, but also their own values and attitudes, levels of confidence and strengths and weaknesses. This self-awareness can then be carried over into other aspects of their life, including their jobs.

With your help Home-Start Sheffield can be available to all parents in Sheffield.
Please contact Karen Ritchie, Manager on 0114 2788377 or email karen@hssheffield.org.uk if you would like to discuss, in confidence, any aspect of your giving to Home-Start Sheffield.
